There has been a lot of banter between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Dallas Mavericks as these two teams continue to battle it out for a place in the West Semis. The Clippers and the Mavs go to war again on Wednesday night for Game 5 with the series tied at 2-2, and it goes without saying that the winner of this duel will be in a great position to progress to the next round.
This is exactly why the Clippers are pulling out all the stops, which includes an epic troll job on the Mavs outside of Crypto.com Arena.
A photo of a huge billboard posted outside LA’s home stadium went viral on Wednesday — and for good reason. Travel agency Skyscanner decided to take out an ad promoting flights from Dallas to Cancun, Mexico, which is a popular summer destination for NBA players.
You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to determine the message behind this not-so-cryptic troll job:

Apparently, the Clippers organization had nothing to do with the ad. In fact, they’ve been forced to come out with an official statement denying any involvement in the incident:
The ad, I’m told, is scheduled to be taken down before Game 5. When asked about it, Clippers had this to say in a statement:
“The billboard at L.A. Live is not owned or operated by the Clippers. We have the utmost respect for our opponents and in no way endorse this message.” https://t.co/nV0vD4O9kR

The Clippers have even gone out of their way to make sure that the ad is taken down as quickly as possible. Then again, the damage has been done.
